File Station enabled in DSM and reachable from your desktop.

Step-by-step connection guide

1

Choose Synology NAS

Open Add Cloud Connection and select Synology NAS.

2

Enter NAS address

Paste the NAS URL or host, choose HTTPS when available, and confirm the port. Defaults are 5001 for HTTPS and 5000 for HTTP.

3

Sign in to verify

Enter DSM username and password, then click the Synology sign-in button. If two-step verification is enabled, enter the OTP code.

4

Save after verification

CloudPairs requires a verified Synology sign-in before saving the connection.

5

Browse shared folders

Open the NAS in a pane and copy to local disks, S3/R2, SFTP, FTP, Dropbox, OneDrive, pCloud, or WebDAV.

Use Synology safely and efficiently

Use HTTPS on port 5001

HTTPS protects DSM credentials in transit.

Limit DSM account permissions

Use a DSM account with access only to shared folders needed by CloudPairs.

Common connection issues

OTP required repeatedly

Sign in again and confirm the OTP code. CloudPairs records that the DSM account uses two-step verification.

Cannot reach NAS

Check LAN/VPN access, DSM firewall rules, HTTPS certificate prompts, and the selected port.
